Ambassador Sun Gongyi Paid a Courtesy Call on the Newly-appointed Minister of Environment

On 28 November 2019, Ambassador Sun Gongyi paid a courtesy call on Hon. Kavydass Ramano, Minister of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change of Mauritius. The two sides exchanged views on further cooperation between China and Mauritius in the areas of environmental protection and waste recycling. Commercial Counsellor Hu Ming accompanied the meeting.

 

                                        

 

Congratulating on Ramano's appointment, Ambassador Sun said environment protection is a common issue faced by all countries in the world. The Mauritian government and people have a strong environmental awareness and many valuable experiences to be learnt from. The Chinese side is willing to conduct more pragmatic cooperation with the Mauritian side in this field.

 

Mr. Ramano noted that protecting environment and addressing climate change is one of the major concerns of this government. China is technologically advanced and experienced in garbage classification, recycling and disposal, the Mauritian government looks forward to further strengthening exchanges and mutual learning with China in related fields.
