Ambassador Sun Gongyi Meets with Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius

On December 5, 2019, Ambassador Sun Gongyi met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Public Utilities Collendavelloo, and the two sides exchanged views on deepening China-Mauritius friendly relations and expanding practical cooperation in various fields.

Ambassador Sun Gongyi congratulated Collendavelloo on his re-election as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Public Utilities, saying that China and Mauritius enjoy friendly relations and fruitful cooperation, and that China wishes to work with Mauritius to further deepen cooperation on specific projects so as to promote bilateral relations continuously moving forward.

For his part, Collendavelloo said that the Mauritian government and people are grateful for China's assistance in building infrastructure projects such as Sports Complex and Bagatelle Dam. The Chinese and Mauritian governments as well as the Chinese Embassy have always maintained close ties with the Ministry of Energy and Public Utilities. He expected that the two sides would strengthen cooperation in the areas of port construction and management as well as new energy development and utilization in the future.
