Notice on Mandatory COVID-19 Negative Certificates for China-bound Passengers Before Boarding

 According to the Announcement of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the General Administration of Customs of China and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China on the Implementation for Passengers on Flights to China with a Negative COVID -19 Nucleic Acid Test Certificate , to ensure healthy and safe international travelling and to reduce the risk of cross-border transmission of the epidemic, some specific measures for foreign passengers taking flights from Mauritius , in accordance with the requirements of the above mentioned announcement, are implemented as follows: 

 As from 14th September 2020, foreign passengers taking flights from Mauritius to China should take COVID-19 nucleic acid test within 3 days before boarding, and apply for Health Declaration with a Negative Nucleic Acid Test Certificate from Chinese Embassy in Mauritius.  Inspection will be made by airlines to the passengers before boarding and passengers are advised to present both Negative Certification of nucleic acid test and verified Health Declaration Form at the airport. 

1. COVID -19 Nucleic Acid Tests should be performed at following institutions designated by the Chinese Embassy within 3 days before boarding: 

 (1). C- Lab at Wellkin Hospital

 Test report can be issued within 24 -48 hours.

   (2).C-Lab Clinique Darné

 Test report can be issued  within 24 -48 hours

 2. Procedures for processing the Health Declaration  

Foreign passengers are required to submit the negative report of nucleic acid test to the Chinese Embassy (via email chinaembmu@gmail.com ), along with the scanned copy of valid passport information page and signed Health Declaration Form (see the attachment below the notice).

 After verified by Chinese Embassy, the scanned copy of the Health Declaration Form with seal will be emailed back to the passenger and needs to be printed out and carried to the airport. Passengers are kindly reminded to travel within the validity period of health declaration.

 Please note that the departure time of the flight should be within the validity period of the health declaration (the validity period is 3 days from the issue date of the nucleic acid test report). Passengers are required to take the approved health declaration form and the negative original nucleic acid test report for boarding and be prepared for checking by the airlines before boarding.

 3. Important reminder:                         

 (1) Passengers who plan to take flights to China are requested to read this notice carefully.  Passengers who fail to obtain the negative test certificate or the valid health declaration in time, will not meet the requirements for boarding, hence are advised to reschedule their trips.

  (2) Passengers departing from Mauritius to China via a third country where such negative certification is required for boarding (see list of countries via link https://hr.cs.mfa.gov.cn/help_two/help-two/gj.html  ) should ensure that the Health Declaration is valid at the time of transit, otherwise they will encounter with certain inconvenience such as being prohibited for boarding and stranded at the transit airport.

  (3) In order to ensure the efficiency of processing Health Declaration Form at the Embassy, applicants should ensure that all information filled in is true and accurate, the uploaded materials are complete, and the photos are clear.

 (4) The Chinese Embassy in Mauritius reminds all passengers traveling to China to strictly abide by relevant anti-epidemic laws and regulations and provide authentic and valid nucleic acid test certificates. Falsifying nucleic acid test certificates will bear corresponding legal consequences.
