Ambassador Sun Gongyi Paid a Courtesy Call on the Newly-appointed Minister of Commerce

On 26 November 2019, Ambassador Sun Gongyi paid a courtesy call on Hon. Yogida Sawmynaden, Minister of Commerce and Consumer Protection of Mauritius. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in imports and exports and consumer rights protection. Mr. Hu Ming, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy, accompanied the meeting.

 

                                                          

 

Mr. Sawmynaden said that in recent years, the volume of trade in goods between the two countries has kept increasing. Mauritius is willing to strengthen trade relations with China, and take an active part in more trade fairs, Expos hosted by China. He also expressed willingness to strengthen cooperation with China in the field of consumer rights protection.

 

Ambassador Sun said that Chinese products are of high quality and attractive price which are favored by consumers from around the world including Mauritian friends. The Chinese Embassy will provide assistance for Mauritians participating in trade fairs and doing business in China. Ambassador Sun hopes the two sides could strengthen information exchanges, maintain close communication, effectively protect consumers' rights, and expand bilateral economic and trade exchanges.
