Latest on Covid in Mauritius

1. On April 16, Mauritius marks its fourth consecutive day with no new Covid-19 infection, with a total of 324 cases among which 16 cases were recovered, with a total of 81 recoveries.

2. The Chinese government has provided substantial assistance to Mauritius, including medical supplies such as masks, protective clothing, and non contact infrared body thermometers. Wenzhou in Zhejiang province, Changzhou in Jiangsu province, Foshan and Meizhou in Guangdong province as well as other  provinces and cities in China also donated materials to Mauritius.

3. On April 15, the second batch of medical equipment and protective materials donated by Jack Ma Foundation arrived, including ventilators, protective clothing, goggles, masks and gloves.

4. The Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation of Mauritius in collaboration with Huawei has recently provided remote video systems for main hospitals in Mauritius to help Mauritian medical personnel establish contacts with Chinese medical experts. The Minister of Health and Wellness Jagutpal said that China has made achievements in the battle against the epidemic and hopes that Maurtius can learn from China's experience.
