Latest on Covid-19 in Mauritius

1. Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail Alan Ganoo announced that the annual tax payment period for automobiles will be extended to August 31. This measure applies to vehicles whose tax payment will expire in March this year.

2. Local media reported that currently 15,000 civil servants are expected to return to work, replacing the first batch of workers from May 15 to 21. So far, 385,000 people have obtained work access permits, and 40% of enterprises have resumed work.

3. As from May 21, administrative staff in Mauritius's primary and secondary schools will resume work and make preparations before the school reopens on August 3.

4. The Victoria Station of Mauritius Metro Express gradually resumes operations after 2 months of suspension. The construction company and workers must strictly abide by the protection regulations.
