Latest on Covid-19 in Mauritius

 1. Till May 29, Mauritius has registered three imported Covid-19 cases. The latest is a Mauritius citizen who has recently returned from France.
  2. The curfew in Mauritius imposed due to Covid-19 is being lifted from Sunday 31 May 2020, announced the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, in a televised address to the nation on 29 May. As from Sunday 31 May 2020, most economic activities resume. The Work Access Permit will not be used. Trades such as supermarkets, shopping malls, markets, restaurants, cafes, churches, etc. will be able to operate on a normal hour basis without having to necessarily respect the alphabetical order rule but on the premise of taking strict epidemic prevention measures. Racecourse, parks, gymnasiums and movie theaters remain closed, and the border is temporarily closed. The public is cautioned to be vigilant, strictly follow the epidemic prevention and control regulations and wear mask.
