Ambassador Sun Gongyi Pays a Courtesy Call on the New Commissioner of Police in Mauritius

On July 9, 2020, Ambassador Sun Gongyi paid a courtesy call on the new commissioner of police Servansingh. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the police field between China and Mauritius as well as other issues of common concern.

Ambassador Sun Gongyi congratulated Servansingh on assuming the new post, expressing gratitude to the Mauritius Police Force (MPF) for its support and assistance in ensuring the safety of the Chinese Embassy premises and staff members, as well as its cooperation and assistance for the consular protection of the Chinese citizens in Mauritius. Ambassador Sun Gongyi said that the Chinese Embassy has maintained friendly relations with the MPF for many years, hoping that the two sides will continue further exchanges and expand cooperation in the future.

Servansingh said that the relationship between Mauritius and China is very friendly. For a long time, China has provided substantial support and assistance to Mauritius, especially in the field of professional police training annually, which has benefited MPF greatly. MPF is deeply grateful for this. MPF wishes to continue maintaining contact with the Chinese Embassy and actively implement exchanges and cooperation between Mauritius and China in the field of police affairs.
