On July 3, 2019, Ambassador Sun Gongyi accompanied Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth to inspect Sports Complex at L'avenir in Moka. Minister of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research Luchoomun and Minister of Technology, Communication and Innovation Sawmynaden were present.

Sports Complex at L'avenir is the third largest stadium in Moka Region, but due to years of disrepair, the rate of utilization is very low. Under the aegis of the Chinese Embassy, the Chinese construction company renovated the football pitch, volleyball court, children's playground and the fence surrounding the stadium.

Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth underscored that the refurbished stadium will greatly facilitate the sports and entertainment activities for the residents in the neighborhood, helping local people improve their quality of life. He expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its support and assistance and hoped that Mauritius and China will continue to strengthen cooperation in relevant fields in the future.

The residents nearby spontaneously came to pay a visit and sang high praise for the newly renovated stadium while expressing their gratitude to the Chinese Embassy.
