On December 6, Ambassador Sun Gongyi paid a courtesy call on Hon. Toussaint, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation. Cultural counsellor Song Yanqun was present at the meeting.

Toussaint expressed his gratitude towards the Chinese government and Embassy for their assistance to Mauritius during the 10th Indian Ocean Island Games wished to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in athlete exchange and training in the future.

Ambassador Sun Gongyi underscored that China and Mauritius have achieved fruitful cooperation in the field of youth and sports and that China wishes to work with Mauritius to further deepen cooperation on specific projects.
