On December 6, Ambassador Sun Gongyi met with the newly-appointed Minister of Tourism Lesjongard, and the two sides exchanged in-depth views on the strengthening of China-Mauritius practical cooperation in the field of tourism. Cultural counselor Song Yanqun was also present at the meeting.

Ambassador Yun Sun congratulated Lesjongard on assuming his new post, stating that the Chinese Embassy wishes to further communicate and contact with the Ministry of Tourism, deepen pragmatic cooperation in the field of tourism between the two countries, and enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Minister Lesjongard thanked the Chinese Embassy for its long-term support to the Ministry of Tourism, saying that China is one of Mauritius's most important sources of tourists and has huge market potential. He is looking forward to strengthening cooperation with China on specific projects in the future.
